It happened at around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 in the vicinity of the 1,000th block of East Main Street in Bridgeport.
Bridgeport Police officers who arrived at the scene noticed a trail of blood that led to a local business, according to Scott Appleby, the director of the Office of Emergency Management & Communications for the City of Bridgeport.
It was determined the victim came into the store after being shot and was transported to the hospital by the store owner, police say.
At the same time, Bridgeport Police were alerted by Bridgeport Hospital that a gunshot-wound victim had arrived with multiple wounds, one being to the side of the head.
Bridgeport Police secured a crime scene and were also sent to the hospital to continue their investigation.
The shooting victim is listed as being in stable condition.
"This remains an active investigation," Appleby said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bridgeport Police by calling 203-576-TIPS (8477).
